Share Links can be used to generate disposable links that can be shared with users without a Pathcore account. Share Links can be generated for images, files and folders, and can be configured with various privileges such as expiry dates, anonymization, and annotation visibility controls.

Who can create Share Links?flowscholar

Users with the Manage share links permission can create, edit, and delete Share Links. This permission can be set for Images, Folders, and/or Files.

How do Share Links affect licensing?flowscholar

The Share Links feature is included in all licenses. Access to content via Share Links does not impact licensing, making this tool suitable when there is a need to provide access to content to users without a Pathcore account.

Are Share Links secure?flowscholar

Share Links are designed to be obscure and disposable links, and to facilitate convenient sharing with users that do not have a Pathcore account. Therefore, these links can be accessed by anyone that has been given the link. To provide a measure of security, Share Links should only be shared with trusted parties and can be set to expire.

Does moving a file or folder affect existing Share Links?flowscholar

No. A Share Link is bound to an item in the Repository, irrespective of the location of the item, even if it has been moved after the link was created.

Is it possible to prevent users from downloading images via Share Link?flowscholar

Yes, the Anonymize Data option prevents viewers from downloading the image when it is accessed via that Share Link.

Is it possible to restrict the metadata that is available via Share Links?flowscholar

Yes. The Anonymize Data prevents recipients viewing the slide label, custom fields marked as having PHI (protected health information), and prevents recipients from downloading the items associated with the Share Link.
